Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Thanks. I have had a very mild bruise/tenderness on the top of my hand for a few weeks now. This morning I woke up with it being bigger with a white lumpy center surrounded by purple. It was also itchy. Do I need to see a doctor or is a topical cream sufficient?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain as you had a bruise on hand and now if there is formation of a white lumpy centre the cause of it seems to be infection in the area leading to pus formation.. I would suggest you to consult a general surgeon or a general physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and in case if there is abscess formation secondary to infection he can advise you to take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller as well as topical application of antimicrobial ointment as well as steroids.. He can also advise incision and drainage as it will help in draining off pus and will help in healing faster..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
