Suggest Medication For Itching And Rash Like Bumps On Labia Minora

I went to the doctor Monday for what I was pretty sure was a yeast infection. She confirmed, and prescribed me Fluconazole. I have now taken both doses, and although my symptoms have improved immensely, I still occasionally have an itching sensation and experience moderate discomfort. I have several small, rash-like bumps on my labia minora, near the opening of my vagina, that burn when I urinate or if they are touched. I am positive I do not have an STI, as I have only been with one person who has only been with me. What can I do to alleviate the itching and get rid of the bumps?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
You were given Fluconazole dose for it & were relieved with that. It confirms trichomoniasis as the causative factor.
The trichomonal infection is known to recur, if not treated adequately.
To avoid this -
- oral medication is to be taken by both sex partners.
- local application of ointment/vaginal pessary is mandatory along with personal hygiene & abstinence till full recovery of both partners.
- vaginal swab testing becomes essential in case of relapses in spite of treatment.
* to get a complete internal examination by gynecologist will help you to get specific doses with repetitions as per need.
thanks.
