I was recently diagnosed with gastritis after having an endoscopy, the dr. has me on Omeprazole. I have been doing ok for about 2 weeks if I stick to very small portions and fairly bland food. During a celebration I recently had a few cocktails with our dinner, still fairly mild or at least foods that seem to work. I went through 2 days of having what seemed like the runs but it was small solid bowel movement with a liquidy discharge also, it was a very dark color. I did take Pepto on those 2 days. I have been feeling extremely bloated and uncomfortable for the last days since. During this I also have started my menstral cycle a week early. I am at a point where I do not want to eat at all but a very hungry. As of today I have had a protein smoothie, bought not made, and some gator aid. I am hungry but the discomfort has kept me from eating. What does the Omeprazole do? I get the impression that the Omeprazole is for ulcer and acid reflux. Is it ok to take other drugs with this?
