Hi I am a 22 year old female with cystic acne on my jaw/mouth area also my forehead. I only used to get a few pimples that would clear up. 2 years ago I had an implanon NXT implanted into my arm. I have heard that it can cause acne?? I am getting it removed next week. I have tried every acne product you can buy nothing works. It has made me have no confidence. What can I do to remove the acne? ?? Please I am desperate. What cream ect should I ask the doctor to prescribe???? Thank you
As per your query you have symptoms of cystic acne on jaw, mouth and forehead which is the severest form of acne and occurs when dead skin and bacteria get trapped inside the pore and causing the area to become red and swollen. You should exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water. If the condition doesn't improve in a week then consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis. The doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin, Isotretinoin or hormone therapy.
