i am a 34 year old male, healthy, 6' tall, 175lbs. i have had hemorrhoids occasionally for years (mostly due to too much sitting - initially in a cubicle job, now in grad school). normally i manage them by putting on prep-H cream, eating more fiber, and changing my chair. this month they came back, and i've found that i'm sweating A LOT, and it's making them worse. in fact, for a few days, i needed to change my underwear or pants because i was sweating through them. this irritated the hemorrhoids and the area around them. i live in houston, where it's very hot/humid, but i've never had this kind of reaction before. i took my usual steps, and the hemorrhoids are under control, but the skin around my rectum is terribly chapped and still sweating badly. it's gotten to the point where the only way i can get through the day is by folding a square of toilet paper between my buttocks (not into the anus, but between the cheeks) and changing it several times a day - to sop up the sweat. this makes me functional, but the skin down there is getting worse, and when i don't put the toilet paper in there, the sweat irritates the sore skin AND soaks my underwear. how do i fix this? how do i heal the skin while also controlling the sweat?
