Suggest Medication For Blood And Mucus In Stools With Pus Cells In A Child

I am a paediatrician .has admitted a child with 20days of blood and mucus in the stool. Taken irregular treatment. Stoolr/e shows plenty of pus cells,1-2rbcs,hb is 8.2,esr40mm/hr.child is 1year7months wt9kg.not on cows milk. Started on ceftrioxona and amikacin. What are possibilities part frm dysentery

If you have ruled out bacterial and parasitic infections, next thing I would think of will be food allergy.

Although he is not on cows milk, he might be exposed to milk proteins from some hidden sources or from breast milk. Or it may be some other food allergy like soy, peanut, tree nuts, egg, fish, shell fish or wheat, which are other common food allergens.
