Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear Sir
Thanks for your query to us.
1. These medications are not meant for ASD. They are possibly for one of the complications of long standing ASD i.e. atrial fibrillation.
2. Eliquis is not for high blood pressure but it is a blood thinner to prevent clot formation in heart due to AF.
3. The choice between Rhythmol (propafenone) for rhythm control and bisoprolol for rate control in AF is controversial and is debatable. I would prefer rate control strategy in my old patients who have anatomical reasons for AF like ASD or Mitral valve disease.
Do consult a good cardiologist before making your choice.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
