First, I need to know how long after meal you measured your blood sugar? If it was less than 2 hours, it is normal to have such high blood sugar readings.
Next, can you also tell if your doctor measured your HbA1C level before starting medications?
Usually, diet and lifestyle changes are advised before starting medical therapy for diabetes.
Regarding the diet, you should avoid foods high in simple sugar to prevent spikes in blood sugar level. You need to eat from all types of food as your body needs all the nutrients to function properly.
Your specif daily menu will be designed based on your traditional eating habits. That's why you need to consult with a dietitian to prepare a specific diet menu.
All the best! Dr.Albana
