Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So i had sex about 7 hours ago unprotected. I am allergic to birth control and i want to know what i can do to stay from getting pregnant. I am going to the army in a few weeks. I need a way to prevent it or i will be kicked out. please help. are there any home remedies?
Sorry, there is not in study of home remedy for emergency contraception. If you are allergic to birth control hormones, you can use copper intrauterine device (IUD). If you want an IUD a nurse or doctor needs to put it in within 5 day of when you had sex. IUD works as both emergency contraception and as ongoing birth control. It is the effective method of emergency contraceptive (risk of pregnancy is 0.1 percent when used for emergency contraceptive) and is the only method that provides ongoing highly effective contraceptive.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
