Suggest Home Remedies To Cure Painful, Swollen Boil On Back Of Ear

I have a boil on the back of my ear. It started small and has doubled in size and is now about the size of a kidney bean. It is extremely painful, especially if it touches something. It has made my ear swell up. Are there any home remedies that I can use to reduce the pain and swelling of this thing on my ear? Should I puncture it or should I just let time heal it? Thank you for your time.

Hello there,
The ear is rich in nerve endings and therefore even a small boil causes you to have a lot of pain. You can apply soframycin ointment and calamine lotion alternately as in one in the morning and the other in the evening . But with the size you have mentioned if it does not subside kindly go to a hospital and get it drained . It would be done under local anesthesia and a small sterlized needle would be used to make a nick. This prevents it from getting infected or spreading.

Hope this helps,
Please feel free to ask if you have any further queries,
