Hi,

The basic question is how much is the diabetic under control. Get the blood sugars at fasting after food and post-meal done, HbA1c also gives idea about control of diabetes over last 3 months. Also, needed is to find out the causes for nausea, the commonest being raised urea and creatinine in diabetes due to affection of kidneys. Gastritis or so. Get him started on a PPI like Omeprazole and give sugar free antacid.

Domperidone needs a prescription that can help to control nausea. If this is done he can have normal diabetic diet. Get other blood tests done. Ultrasound of abdomen. Upper GI Endoscopy if needed. Once a proper cause is found it will be helpful to have symptomatic as well as specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
