Suggest Dietary Plans For Babies

Hello Doctor, My baby is now 6 months old and entering into 7th month in few days. She is taking formula milk since birth as her mother is not getting enough milk for the baby. We are using Nan pro1 since 6 months. Most of the times she skips taking milk, hardly she takes milk 4-5 times (about 60 ml per feed) in a day. we are giving her a small cup of ragi mixing with water once a day and a small cup of cerelac in the evening. Her weight is nearly 5-6kgs. We are worried about her weight. Now a days she does not sleep well. Her sleep is hardly 6-7 hrs/day. Is her diet mentioned above ok? What do we need to do to improve her weight. what other food can we give her at this stage? Please suggest her diet plan. we will be thankful for your suggestions and response.

Thanks for the query.
Try to give milk/curd around 500-750 gms every day to your baby.
,Curd is as good as milk or may be a shade better than milk.
Curd can be added in boiled potato/banana/khichri/dal/poha/ragi, whatever your baby is happy to take.
C erelac can be prepared in milk if you are mixing it with water, to increase the consumption of milk.
His present dietary intake seems to be slightly less than optimum for his weight and age,but please do not get over anxious about this as the baby will take time to develop taste for new foods and will gain weight.
Please give your baby 400 IU of Vitamin D once daily (0.5 ml of calshine P Drops/1ml of Arbivit drops or equivalent of this)
If your baby does not gain weight with these measures then a visit ta doctor shall be a good option.
