Suggest Diet To Lose Weight If Having Mixed Connective Tissue Disease

I've been on a diet for quite some time and it seems like nothing is working. I've also been exercising. I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease; could you please provide me with a list of foods to eat and a list that I need to terminate from my diet completely. Thanks

Dietitian & Nutritionist 's  Response
Hello,
Mixed Connective Disease does not have a nutritional approach to it that I am aware of. But, the traditional treatment for this disorder may change your nutritional needs as well. I suggest a comprehensive work-up by a Dietitian.

In the meantime, I feel you will do well on a lower carbohydrate, higher lean protein meal pattern. Supplements cannot be recommended online on a free email service as it may lead to harm. We would need to know how you are eating now, what medications you are on (very important), diagnosis, labs, likes/dislikes. And, since there is no pre-formed diet, some research would have to be done to see if there is anything in the literature to support one approach over another.

Think about what you would like to do. I am available online here directly or you can consult a local dietitian. Respectfully, KathyJ. Shattler, MS,RDN
