HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If your appetite is small you may need to consider the use of a supplement to increase your appetite. A vitamin that contains the b vitamins would be most helpful.

In terms of a diet to increase your weight you can consider the following:
(1)increasing portion sizes
(2)increase the frequency of meals
(3)add dressing/oils/peanut butter to meals to increase the calorie value
(4)use snacks in between meals

I hope this helps

First of all you need to find out the cause of low appetite. You've had a low appetite since childhood or has it reduced due to stress, illness, depression or any change in activity levels? If any of the above factors are responsible then you need to make changes accordingly. A diet plan will work for you only when you begin eating properly. If you are prone to anxiety, then you must learn to relax first. De stress and stay active. If you begin exercising or increase physical activity, then it will improve your appetite also.

You must eat small meals but 6-8 times a day to ensure your energy intake is optimal.

Include foods that are easily digestible so that you don't feel full for a long time.
Avoid foods that are high in fibre and fats like having too much of raw foods like fruits and salads. Have them but only in limited amounts Instead have carbohydrate rich foods like rice, potatoes, bananas, white bread etc. Avoid too much of oily and fried foods which delay digestion and keep you feeling full for a long time.

Have fruit juices, fruit milkshakes with ice cream instead of whole raw fruit.

Avoid drinking fluids including water just before meals.

Keep some carbohydrate and protein rich snacks like peanut and jaggery bars, potato and cheese sandwich, paneer rolls etc alongwith you when you are out to eat as snacks when hungry.

Avoid staying on an empty stomach for long. Have a good hearty breakfast to boost stamina.

Eat well and take adequate rest. Hope I have answered your query.
