Suggest Cure For A Burning Sensation In The Hip

I fell off a ladder today and landed on my left side. My hip and foot hurts but can still walk. I have bruising on the inside of my foot with pain on the outside. My hip area hurts with a burning sensastion down the back of my thigh all the way down my to my foot with tingling. It hurts worse when lying still. What could be wrong?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Your symptoms suggest that you have sciatica resulting in back pain with radiation down the leg. Sciatica is caused by herniated lumbar inter-vertebral disc with nerve root (lumbar nerves L3, L4, or L5 or sacral nerves S1, S2, or S3,)impingement /compression or irritation(causing burning sensations)of the left or right or both sciatic nerves.
Symptoms include a "pins and needles" sensation, or tingling and difficulty moving or controlling the leg.
Radiculopathy due to disk herniation (sciatica) is generally favorable, with most patients demonstrating substantial improvement over a matter of months.
Acetaminophen and NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are appropriate for pain relief, although severe pain may require short courses of opioid analgesics.
Epidural glucocorticoid injections have a role in providing temporary symptom relief for sciatica due to a herniated disc.
