hi im 26 years getting married in September and have never been sexually active. We not planning on having a baby anytime soon, i enquired about contraceptives and ginett 35 was recommended for me but after researching about its side effects im a bit worried especially wt the weight gain. do you think this is a good pill for me ? thanks
All the hormonal contraceptives can cause various side effects. Weight gain is very common with implants and depot injections. Weight gain can also occur with combined contraceptive pills. These side effects may not be occur in all women. Progesterone only pills may cause less weight gain than other pills.I would suggest you to start taking ginette 35 and continue if no side effects occur.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
