Suggest Cause For Extreme Dizziness And Speech Difficulty In Males

My husband has been getting worsening symtoms for over a year now. Have had blood tests, cat scan and no signs of tumors or strokes. All ok in blood work. But he shuffles like an old man, he gets dizzy if he looks up, his speech is garbled and he has to talk slow and put alot of effort into it so I can understand him. He also get mad easily. Going to see a neurologist but cant get in until nov. Is there anything we can test for before we go to the neurologist to make his diagnosis easier.??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your husband's symptoms could be related to a neuro-degenerative disorder like fronto-temporal dementia or multi-system atrophy. Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a brain MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
