Hi,

Ulcerative colitis is a tricky one to be managed by diet. The following foods can be taken during remission phase in which you are now i.e; after an acute flare up:
1) Low fiber fruits like bananas, honey dew melon and cooked fruits
2) Cooked non cruciferous vegetables like asparagus, potatoes, cucumbers
3) Refined grains like white pasta, white rice, oat meal and certain breads
4) Lean protein sources like chicken, tofu, eggs, lean meat
5) Omega 3 fatty acids including fish.
6) Homemade protein shakes
7) Unsweetened applesauce
8) Nut butters
9) Vitamin D supplements

Now let us see those foods to be avoided:
1) Fruits with seeds and skins
2) Dairy products
3) Spicy foods
4) Caffeine
5) Nuts
6) Raw vegetables
7) Alcohol
8) Fatty, fried or greasy food
9) Carbonated beverages like soda
10) Excess sugars

Diet is an important aspect to be taken care of in ulcerative colitis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
