Suggest An Alternative Remedy For Cellulitis Apart From Antibiotics

I developed cellulitis on my medial right ankle and lower leg. I am on antibiotics but would like to know if there is anything else I can use to clear this up. I was just told by a friend to use 1/2 bleach, 1/2 water. I also use essential oil - tea tree - with coconut oil. Seems to help but swelling has gotten worse since I started antibiotics on 01-14-16.

hi. cellulitis is a bacterial infection and the only treatment available are antibiotics.

if i were your treating physician i would change your antibiotics. there are times when the bacteriae are resistant to the given antibiotics. in such a scenario its better to change the antibiotics and get a pus culture sensitivity done.

also i would have to advice against using bleach and oils, as these can sometimes lead to irritant contact dermatitis on top of cellulitis.

i suggest you follow up with your treating doctor and ask him for a change in antibiotics.

hope this answer helps. for any further queries please get back to us. thanks.
