Suggest An Alternative Medicine For Lisinopril

Hello, doctor. Could you please advise of an alternative medication for Lisinopril? The side effect of hacking cough is the issue with Lisinopril. My doctor switched me to Amlodipine, but my BP remains on the high side after changing to that medication. Would lowering the dose of Lisinopril decrease the chance of the side effect?

In some people ACE-inhibitor drugs like lisinopril causes dry cough that if intolerant may be switched to an alternative drug like ARBs e.g. Losartan. Provided your B.P readings of atleast 24 hours, your dose to the new group of drug losartan can be adjusted as your starting dose.
