Suggest Alternate Over The Counter Medication For Vesicare

I have OAB and was on Oxybutynin 10 mg for a few years but that dose had to be increased to 20 mg. I was having cognitive impairment - couldn t remember basic words for past year and just realized it was caused by meds. Stopped Oyxbutynin and Dr put me on Vesicare which works great. Except my insurance does not cover it. What alternate meds are comparable that do no cause the memory thing?

Hello,

Overactive bladder (OAB) can be treated with selective muscarinic receptor inhibitors (M3) like Solifenacin, Darifenacin or M2 and M3 receptor inhibitors like Tolterodine or Trospium.

Unlike, the M2/M3 select agents that are lipophilic tertiary amines, Trospium exhibits less receptor selectivity, but is a hydrophilic quaternary amine. This biochemical property renders it relatively impermeable to the blood-brain barrier and hence limits unwanted central nervous system side effects. Solifenacin is most widely used for OAB.
