Suggest A Remedy For Severe Pain In Wrist, Thumb And Elbow Joints

Hi, my name is Wayne. I am experiencing extreme pain in mostly my left wrist and thumb joint to the point of grabbing something, being fine, then when I let go my grip, I suffer sudden intense pain at my thumb to wrist. also I have a line of pain from wrist to inside elbow on my forearm. Any idea as to what it might be. In my past I have been a truck driver all my life and done pretty heavy work for 37 years. I am 54 years old. This will go away for months but suddenly it comes back as an onslaught. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
The reason is due to Median nerve compression at wrist.Becoz of ur profession prolonged lifting and more work with wrist and elbow joint it may occur.Other possibilities in Diabetics and Thyroid persons. You just rule out for both.If yes then go for treatment for that. You can consult Neurologist to do nerve conduction study on ur limb. Then they will advice you according to reports. Meanwhile h wear CTS splint.Your problem is called carpel tunnel syndrome.Don't worry there is a cure for that.
