General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As there is diarrhea and fever at 8 months period with pediatrician prescribing symptomatic therapy, I would quote it as a viral infection of the gut commonly seen at this age period. It takes around 24 - 48 hours to clear the virus from the bowel and let her be normal around that period. Do not panic at all and maintain her hydration with proper amount of breast feeding. Be remain in regular follow up with her pediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
