Suggest OTC Medication For Flu Symptoms While On Acitretin

I m on acetritin 25 mg/once a week for lichen planus, and I started developing cold symptoms on Saturday. I think I have the flu. I was wondering what can I take over the counter for this as I understand I m not supposed to have anything with alcohol in it, but I m very miserable here. Nyquil is what I usually get and I can t make it to my doctor until tomorrow. Thx for any help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I recommend using Acetaminophen three times a day. It is an over the counter anti-inflammatory option. I also recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
