Suffered Hair Loss After Consuming Amlodipine Besylate. Would Stopping The Medicine Cause Hair Regrowth?

three years ago i was prescribed amlodipine besylate 5mg for hypertension and over this period have experienced severe hair loss. I read the eHealthMe online report last night re link between this prescription drug and hair loss and I immediately ceased taking the medication (I have an appointment with my primary care physician in 2 weeks). My query: will I experience hair regrowth now that I have stop taking amlodipine b. or is this permanent hair loss.

HI,
Thanks for writing in.
If the hairloss in your case is due to drug intake of amlodepine then it will slowly regrow after stopping the medication.
If it is due to other causes like androgenetic alopecia then it will not regrow spontaneously. However with treatments you will have hair regrowth.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
