my male child(age 5.5 month) have stool test yesterday below is the report-
physical exam-
Consistency - Liquid
Mucus - present (++++)
Colour - Greenish
Odour - offensive
Chemical Exam -
Reaction - Acidic
pH - 6.0
occult Blood - Positive
Reducing Substance : Present (++)
Microscopic Exam-
Pus cell - 3-5/HPF
Bacteria - present
R.B.C - - 1-2/HPF
undigested starch - Present (+)

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.
Some of them are not normal. Presence of occult blood in the stool is not normal. Your child should be investigated for that. Presence of bacteria does not indicate any thing. This is because certain bacteria are normally present in the stool like E. Coli. Please consult your doctor with the report because most of the reports are read with clinical correlation. We do not treat reports.
