Welcome to healthcaremagic,
Blood pressure varies from time to time as it depends on various factors such as physical activity,
stress levels etc. Initially when you start your medication for
high blood pressure it will take sometime for the physician to titer the dose which is optimum to control your blood pressure.
You could follow the below given instructions which will help reduce your blood pressure:
1. Take your medications regularly
2. Engage in regular aerobic physical activity such as brisk walking (at least 30 min per day, most days of the week).
3. Consume a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products. Reduce rice in your diet.
4. Reduce salt intake to less than 5 grams per day (1 teaspoon is approximately 5 grams). Avoid pickles and papads as they are rich in salt.
5. Maintain normal body weight (BMI normal range for 18.5 - 25).
6.
Smoking and alcohol intake increase blood pressure. If you are addicted to any of them then kindly quit it.
Hope that answers your question.
Regards, Dr.Imaad
