Should I Take Whole Five Set Of Rabies Vaccine Again?

hello, I m Swarnava from India. In January, 2014 I took post-exposure rabies vaccination 5 (dose 0,3,7,14,28). But mistakenly it was given on 0,2,6,13,27. Now i need to take post exposure rabies vaccine again and the doctor told me that the first two dose (0,3) will be enough as i m already immune. So am i perfectly immune or should i have to take the whole five of it (0,3,7,14,28)?

hello,
i can understand your concern.
according to who guidelines since you have already taken the vaccination previously, two doses at three days interval i.e the 0 and 3 doses are sufficient for you. this has been rightly suggested by your doctor.
kindly clean the affected part with soup under running water.
do not cover the wound, leave it open.
take the doses as early as possible, this gives maximum protection against rabies.
hope you are satisfied with the response.
feel free to ask further questions.
thanks for choosing HCM
