Should I Take Thyronorm Lifelong And Will This Cause Problems In Conceiving?

hi i had been operated for 3 yeares back for hypothyrodism, and doctor suggested me to take thyronorm 100 mcg for life long,
<pls. suggest is it required to take this tablet life long or should i discontinue this, will it cause my future sex life for conciveing

Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Have you done your thyroid function test after that?

The thyroid medication dose has to be adjusted after doing thyroid function test every 3-6 months. If I were your treating physician I would adjust your thyronorm dose to keep your TSH below 2.5.

If your thyroid function tests are normal you can safely conceive and have normal healthy kids. It will not affect your sex life.
