Should Blood Test For WBC Be Done On Completion Of Antibiotics?
I have been told that my white blood count is low. Was given rocephin and steroids for upper respiratory diagnoses. Now doc wants to check blood. Have had 2 shots of rocephin, steroids, a Z-pack and almost 10 days of cefuroxime. Shouldn t I at least wait until all this is out of my system before spending what may be unnecessary time or money since the rocephin causes this in approx. 80% of people who use it?

I really appreciate your concern, just low wbc count can not be treated because underlying cause would be matter of concern and more is clinical symptoms in absence of symptoms no need to treat it or this can not be treated just single condition, other finding need to be correlated here, you have not mentioned for what blood test was done, antibiotic given for high count of WBC, hope this information helps, take care.
