Should T3 Be Tested For After Having Diagnosed With Hypothyroid?

I have hypothyroidism and on levothyroxine .125 My TSH is is low 0.2 I feel I should be on a combination of T4 and tryidothyronine or T 3. I feel doc should do Free T3 She doesn t agree. I have 5000 deductible. Iam otherwise healthy. I am on no meds except synthroid. How much Free T3 costs? Is it worthwhile to do it? Thanks

HI
HYPOTHYROIDISM ON TREATMENT REQUIRES MONITORING OF SERUM TSH ONLY.SO FREE T3 LEVELS WILL NOT HELP IN YOUR CASE IN THE DOSAGE ADJUSTMENT.
YOUR SECOND QUESTION WAS ABOUT COMBINATION OF LEVOTHYROXINE AND TRIIODOTHYRONINE.THERE ARE LOT OF STUDIES CONDUCTED AND IT IS SHOWN THAT YHERE IS NO ADVANTAGE OF TAKING COMBINATION OVER SINGLE LEVOTHYROXINE.
IN YOUR CASE SINCE TSH IS 0.2 ,I FEEL IT IS SLIGHTY SUPPRESSED.SO IF I WERE YOUR TREATING DOCTOR I WILL CONSIDER REDUCING DOSE OF LEVOTHYROXINE.
HOPE I HAVE CLEARED YOUR DOUBTS
