Should I Omit The Cardizem From My B/P List And Start Using The Carvedilol?
I have been taking Cardizem (generic Taztia XT 360mg capsules for 20 + years along with Diovan 160 mg and Furosemide 20 mg. Now I'm told to switch from the Cardizem to Carvedilol 625 mg twice a day. Should I omit the Cardizem from my B/P list and start using the Carvvedilol?

1. The possible dose of carvedilol is 6.25 mg and not 625 mg. I hope it is a typographical error.
2. If you have been advised to switch over, then you should switch over to new drug. If you have any doubts, it should be discussed with your physician. Because a decision to change the drug must have been taken after careful assessment of scenario and under pressing conditions.
3. Exact modality of switch over is individualized and should be as per your physician's advise.
