Should Epilex Be Continued For Treating Seizures?

Hi. My Daughter who is 10 years of age has had 3 episodes of seizures (lasting for 5-7 minutes) till date since the last 1.5 years. The doctor has now prescribed Epilex 200 and Epilex Crono 300 1 daily. Has asked us to visit him in 6 months, 4 months have passed. He has also adviced that this medication has to be continued for at least 2 years. EEG has been done previously. Please advise if these tablets are advisable to be taken for such a long period. She is also taking Sharkaferrol syrup daily along with the tablets. Thanks
