Shin Bone Wound Not Healed At 3 Weeks After Injury Is It Normal?
I have a shin wound that I received from being thrashed on lava rock climbing out of the ocean. It s been 3 weeks, is not infected but is healing very, very slowly. It has thick scabs on most of it. About an inch of it square on the shin bone has not healed evenly together. The scab is not even. It s still scabbed. Is that normal?
Hi,Welcome to healthcare magic. After going through your query I think You are suffering from slow healing ulcer . Wound over shin are slow to heal due to less blood supply. But I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER SHIN BONE IS EXPOSED because if bone is exposed than it may not heal without covering it(A plastic surgery operation). You may need plastic surgeon consultation .I think your query answered.Welcome to any follow up query.
Hi welcome to health care magic. After going through your query I think you require blood sugar level to be checked. As shin bone has less vascularity anteromedialy wound healing is slow in presence of high blood sugar level. You need regular dressing of wound with anti inflammatory medicine. Hope your query has been answered. Thanks.
