Hi.. Thanks for the query.. Is there any redness of eye or any decrease in the vision.. There are many conditions which cause photophobia like any damage to the cornea or infection or iritis or uveitis.. or rarely because of a cataract.. If she is having any associated symptoms as I mentioned above do visit an ophthalmologist for further evaluation and treatment accordingly.. If nothing is found she can use some lubricating eye drops and goggles while going out... Hope this information helps..Take care..
Hello, It seems from the history that your wife is having difficulty in opening eyes in sunlight and the causes are glare or photophobia. The causes for glare are any opacities in the optical medium of the eye like early cataract, corneal opacities. The causes for photophobia are corneal epithelial defect or inflammations of the eye like uveitis. Hence I advice you to consult ophthalmologist for examination to find out the underlying cause and treatment for the same. Thank you
