Severe Migraines, Sensitive Eyes. Migraine Starting After Light Hitting Eyes. What Kind Of Doctor Should I See?
I'm having severe continuous migraines that only let up maybe for 1-2 days a week. I've noticed my eyes being very sensitive to all kinds of light and have to wear dark sunglasses even indoors. When light hits my eyes (usually just one side or the other, not both at the same time) I feel a migraine start. Do I have an inflammation in my eyes or a disease? What kind of doctor should I see?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Jay Patel's Response
Hi,
Based from the information you having headaches which are associated with eyes being very sensitive to all kinds of light. And your question is do you have an eye disease or not and what specialist you need to see.
It seem like you have a migraine with photophobia (light sensitivity). Which is common to see in such cases.
You need to see neurologist for your diagnosis and treatment and if their is an issue neurologist will advice you to visit an ophthalmologist.
Hope it helps.
Thanks. Dr.JAY PATEL.
