Severe Itching On Legs, Lower Back, Swelling In Legs. Back After Vacation In Ocean. What Could Be Done?

I returned from vacationing at the Jersey Shore on Friday. Since leaving the ocean, I have developed severe itching on my legs and lower back/abdomen. I had a twelve hour drive home, and have developed swelling in my legs without any pitting(I can tell they are swollen because I cannot see my ankle tendons nor my metatarsals). I thought it might be a fungal infection and applied some Monistat, and have taken a Benadryl. Neither have helped relieve the itching. I am sleeping with a pillow under my legs, and this has not helped with the swelling.

What can I do?

Hi, it appears to be the allergic reaction, due to ingredients of the sea water, or a bite of the sea life, or to the sand of the shore.
You may need to use medicine for relief so i advise you to consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such swelling and itching prescribe citrizine, steroid, and ofloxacin. Thank you.
