Sensitive Eyes. History Of Tuberculosis. Is Laser Treatment Advisable?

Hello Doctor, A very good evening. I am Murthy, chartered Accountant from Hyderabad, aged 35 yrs. I suffered Tuberculosis(not cough related) in Last Jan 2012 and took complete medication for 8 months and recovered fully by the grace of god and a good doctor.
My problem is,... because of the TB medication my eyes have become very sensitive especially to light. Night driving is becoming bit inconvenient and the flashes of light are getting retained in my eyes for a couple of seconds when ever light hits my eyes. Earlier there use to be some eye floaters in my eyes and now they have increased very much. I have a long sight power of -2.25(180 Degrees cylindrical). However my sensitiveness has reduced up to some extent now as the time is passing. i want to go for laser treatment for my eyesight and eye Floater removal. please advice me how to get my eyes tested to see if they are ok and pls advice me if i can go for laser treatment.

Regards
Murthy

Hello

You should see a vitreo-retinal surgeon to ascertain the cause of floaters in your vision. It is just possible that your prescription of glasses has also changed. You should go for a fresh refraction and change your glasses if needed. Straight away going for LASER treatment for vitreous floaters or without knowing the exact refractive error is not advisable. You can use some lubricating eye drops which will have a soothing effect in your eyes. You should also take some anti-oxidants which are sometimes helpful in preventing the floaters.
