General & Family Physician Dr. Sumanth.P's  Response

Thanks for posting your query.

Since she is symptomatic due to gall stones she can undergo surgery.

The surgery is called Cholecystectomy.

Laparoscopic technique is widely used now. It is done through four small holes made on the tummy, one of which is used to introduce telescope to look inside and others to introduce instruments to free and remove the gall bladder.

Post- op recovery is smooth and hospital stay is reduced with this.

Hope I have answered your query.

Wishing you good health.
