Your day has hypertension, better known as high blood pressure. Have him go to the doctor as soon as he can. He probably won't suffer a heart attack right this minute - but the chances of him having heart disease or suffering from a heart attack or stroke is much higher than normal. Normal blood pressure for an adult is 120/80 - although some doctors recommend 110/70 as modern day medicine is improving. You want to make sure that you are measuring your dad's blood pressure correctly . . . meaning measuring it 5 times over a span of 30 minutes - at rested heart rate of course. Ways to lower blood pressure: 1. EXERCISE! BY ALL MEANS, MAKE HIM RUN! 2. Eat less salt! Salt will damage your kidneys and run up your blood pressure. 3. Try not to be stressed. Good luck to you and your father!
