I have a small pus filled bump on the outside of my lower lip . i have attempted to drain it and it seems to work, then it simply come back. When it is touched it is sore, what is this and how can I get rid of it? I thought it was just a pimple , but it isn t going away, it s been about a week now, but it does not look like a cold sore and is not responding to any cold sore creams.

Dermatologist 's  Response
dear icicle
we could be dealing with a condition called recurrent herpes labialis.
please visit a dermat who will decide whether to put you on a suppressive course of antivirals or intermittent course of antivirals.
the type of regimen depends on the the frequency of relapse and the severity of the condition which can be judged by clinical examination only

regards
dr amit
