Purple Bruise Formed After Injecting Methadone, Burning Sensation. Done Many Times Before, Bruise Not Formed. Any Ideas?

Hi, friend was iv using methadone, he says he has done many times before, this time after finished a large purple bruise formed all around the injection site. It was a dark purple and burned. The color faded after about 30 minutes. It is still visible, just looks like a big bruise. This happened about 7 hours ago and he says it is still burning, not as bad as before. The site is the left bicep.

Hi, it appears that there is some bleeding coming out while taking out the needle. The fluid fades quickly, but the blood clots take time for clearing from the site. The needle might be having a blunt end which caused the bleed. As it is still burning it is better to consult a doctor to prevent infection. Thank you.
