Provide Suggestions To Prevent The Fingers From Being Amputated
Dear Dr. Rynne, This is Sue from China. I am writing to inquire my cousins problem. He has got a severe frostbite in early February. We have gone to the local hospital for the theropy, which is a local famous hospital specializes in burn. The chance of his recovery is missed. Except for the thumb of his left hand, the other 4 fingers have to be amputated, verified by our famoud local hospital Wuhan Union Hospital. But you know the bones of the other 4 fingers are good, but without any good tissues or muscles to protect. Do you have some suggestions for avoid his fingers to be amputated, and help the tissues and muscles to grow? Best regars Sue

Regarding your suggestions for any other means to prevent your cousins fingers from being amputated I will advise yes this is possible to prevent the amputation provided the fingers are not severly infected
All you need to do is to schedule an appointment with a plastic surgeon for further clinical assessment and adequate surgical correction procedure
