Hello. Welcome to hcm
Folic acid are prescribed to prevent neural tube defects. Neural tube is mainly concerned with formation of brain n spinal cord and folic acid is essential for development. If not, developin baby wil have many physical disorders n many die before birth. Your doctor might be suspecting a disorder and as a precautionary measure,he has asked for injection. These injections are good for baby development and there wont be any major problems
All the best
