Hello Good Evening,

According to ultrasound there is a 7 weeks fetus with no cardiac activity, so might be a chance of fetal demise.
Usually by 6 weeks in trans vaginal ultrasound fetal cardiac activity can be seen and in trans abdominal scan it has to be noted by now, if you undergone trans abdominal scan you can wait for one more week as your doctor told for safe side.
If you are correct that you have 8 week pregnancy, then there is possibility for growth of the fetus stopped by 7th week due to demise, but if you are not sure of dates then you can take the scan findings into consideration and wait for one week.
In 5-10% of normally progressing pregnancies when the embryos measure between 2 and 4 mm the fetal heart rate cannot be seen, so in and by itself the absence of a fetal heart rate at that time does not mean it's a miscarriage.
So have patience and wait for a week and get repeat of USG.

Regards,

Dr. Naresh Jain.
