Pregnant. Have Protein In Urine, Normal BP, No Edema Or Preeclampsia. NST And BPP Tests Done. What Could It Be?

Hello,
I am 35 weeks pregnant and I have recently been informed that I have protein in my urine. I had to perform a 24hr catch 2x and had high levels of protein (500+ and 800+). My blood pressure is normal and I have no edema or other signs of preeclampsia but my OB is focusing on this as the only possibility. He has not even tested me for a UTI and has not offered me any other screenings or tests for my kidneys/liver/ect. My baby is measuring small (4.4lbs at 34 weeks and 6 days) but we are in High altitude (also which my OB is disregarding as a possibility) and the NST and BPP test screenings came back fine. I am concerned because he is insisting that it is preeclampsia and wants to induce me early. We agreed to continue the fetal monitoring 2x weekly and that I will do home BP monitoring- promising that I will go to the hospital if my BP raises over 140/90. I feel that he is so focused on preeclampsia being the only possibility that we might be missing overlooking another serious issue. He has admitted that my case does not “fit in the textbooks” but he insist on treating me as I do. Any thoughts?
