Painful Swollen Lymph Node. Advised Immune Booster, Anti Inflammatory Pills. Chances Of HIV?

Hi There, Sorry to take up your time for such a mindless mistake. Im a westerner working in a Islamic country..therefore its hard for me to find closure with a doctor here. Around a month ago i had unprotected sex, right now i have a swollen lympth node (i presume) under my left jaw and upto the bottom of my ear. It is painful and tender to touch, however i have no other symptoms. No fever, cold, flu etc. I went to the doctors two days ago and she explained there was an infection, gave me anti-biotics, immune booster pills and anti inflammatory pills. Can you speculate my chances of HIV?

Hello,

Welcome to health care magic forum.

I have read your concern.

Pain and swelling under the left jaw usually occur due to -Any tooth infection underlying which has spread into Peri apical tissues as well as into sinus spaces.

I would suggest you to get a thorough clinical evaluation done by a dentist.

Tooth with deep caries or periodontal infection has to be restored or retained.

To relieve underlying infection, antibiotics along with analgesics has to be administered.

Pus has to be drained completely.

Hope this helps.
