Pain In Right Arm, Sore In Morning. Cause?

I have a pain in my right arm, which I am only aware of at night and been been going on and off over the last year or so. The pain is so severe it is hard to sleep at night. It is a throbbing achy pain within the middle part of the upper arm. I find raising my arm above my head helps a little but doesn't make it go away. The arm is still and sore to use in the morning but seems to wear off during the day. It is really beginning to worry me as it seems to be happening every night now. It happens whatever bed I sleep in or whatever pillow I use. What could be causing it?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on the description of your symptoms, I suspect that you could be having some problem either in your cervical spine or the shoulder joint.

Appropriate investigations like Xrays of the cervical spine & shoulder joint and MRI scans may be needed to establish the correct diagnosis.

I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed clinical examination and further management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
