Pain In Arm After Drawing Blood. Taken Motrin, Aspirin, Heat Treatment. Anything Else?

May 16, my husband had to go to the emergency room, while there a Nurse assistance took blood from his left hand. The blood was spitting out into the tubs but she continue she stated she didn't know why. My husband was in pain. After the procedure his hand was hurting but not bad. He was release from the hospital 2 days later and 2 days after that he began to fell more pain. We went to the doctor, he stated to take motrin and apply cold pack. We did that it help a little but he was still in pain. Than on Friday June 7 we went to his immediate doctor and he stated to apply heat and try aspirin instead. Well, he is not feeling any relief. Is there anything else can be done??

Hi,
From history it seems that there might be some extra-vasation of blood into subcutaneous tissue giving rise to this problem.
There is possibility of having thrombophlebitis or some infection locally.
You may require one antibiotic medicine course.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
Apply ice pack 2-4 times a day.
Ok and take care.
