Pain Around Heart Area Of Chest, Pricking Feeling, High Cholesterol. What Could Be This?
For the last 20 minutes I've been feeling a slight pain right around the heart area of my chest. At times it feels like a needle is poking me for 1-2 seconds. Then it goes away and returns in a few minutes. I have no shortness of breathe or numbness in my arm. What could it be? I would like to add that I have had high cholesterol most of my life and I am 34 yrs. old, 6' tall, 210 lbs.
Dear Sir Thanks for your query to HCmagic. The description of your pain is not typical of anginal heart disease. A pin-prick sensation, lasting for 1-2 seconds, coming and going is not typical of anginal heart disease. Since it is an acute condition and requires examination, please do visit your Emergency room and get yourself examined. An acute cardiac event may take place irrespective of your cholesterol levels. An internet based consultation is not suitable for emergency medical situations as they require examination of patients. You are welcome to discuss and have insight into your problems/ investigations/ management suggested by your doctors. Sincerely sukhvinder singh
